ALB Sponsor Conference for Culinary Instructors

The American Lamb Board sponsored the 2025 Center for the Advancement of Foodservice Education (CAFE) conference in June. The conference, themed “The Need for Change,” was a three-day event bringing together culinary educators, program directors, and industry leaders from across the country to explore forward-thinking strategies in culinary education. Thanks to the sponsorship, American Lamb was highlighted as a key topic at the conference.

American Lamb was a popular feature at the opening night welcome reception, and throughout the event, ALB’s booth was lively with culinary professors interested in information about whole carcass utilization and affordable lamb sourcing. Many mentioned they are beginning to source whole lambs for teaching purposes, emphasizing the cost advantages and versatility.

“This was a unique opportunity to support influential culinary instructors who are shaping the next generation of foodservice professionals,” says ALB Chairman Jeff Ebert. “Our involvement not only builds lasting industry relationships, but also inspires educators to showcase lamb in new, approachable, and globally inspired ways in their curriculum.”

Many of the educators attending the event express strong interest in receiving more digital butchery collateral and pricing guides. In addition, several professors inquired about sourcing lamb carcasses to expand their students’ butchery skills.

The existing Curriculamb Postcards were the perfect takeaway for this crowd. ALB plans to develop more butchery resources and online support for culinary programs, based on conference feedback.
