Lamb Board Receives USDA Sustainability Grant
On December 12, 2022, USDA announced its investment in 71 projects under the second funding pool of Partnerships for Climate-Smart Commodities. This included a grant awarded to the American Lamb Board (ALB) for “Measuring the Climate Benefits and Emissions of Prescribed Sheep Grazing and Promoting the Consumption of Climate-Smart Lamb.”

American Lamb is Virtually Everywhere
Research shows 85% of Americans say they go online daily. That figure includes the 31% who report going online almost constantly, as well as 48% who say they go online several times a day. To reach consumers in the digital space, American Lamb Board (ALB) is working with wine experts, chefs, bloggers, butchers and nutritionists to host virtual classes to share information about the versatility and benefits of American Lamb.
Sheep Sustainability Task Force and Report
American Lamb Board (ALB) working with the American sheep industry has created a new task force of industry stakeholders and research and extension specialists to develop a sheep sustainability report. The report will represent the sheep industry’s commitment to sustainability and describe the industry’s existing practices and goals for continuous improvement in animal care, environmental stewardship, social impacts and industry productivity.
Sharing the American Lamb Story with Foodservice Media
The American Lamb Board met with foodservice and trade magazine editors at the annual International Foodservice Editorial Council (IFEC) conference held this week in Santa Barbara. IFEC is a nonprofit association dedicated to improving the overall quality of business-to-business communication within the foodservice industry and to promoting professional standards among its members. IFEC brings editors and public relations professionals together to exchange ideas, share resources and confer on editorial content for chefs and restauranteurs.
